Simone Galea is Associate Professor in the Department of Education Studies, Faculty of Education, the University of Malta where she has been teaching philosophy of education, feminist philosophies and pedagogies, narrative inquiry and methodological issues in educational research for more than 20 years.
Her publications reflect her extensive teaching and research about women, teachers and philosophy of education, teacher education, feminist philosophy, narrative inquiry, literature and their educational potential. Her research and teaching also focus on epistemological and methodological issues in doing research with the marginalized. Her latest research work focuses on innovative practices in thinking, teaching, education and the political.
Simone Galea began her teaching career in elementary schools and in secondary and postsecondary as teacher of Maltese language, history and literature. She has won the Maltese National Prize for Literature for her book, Il-Metamofosi tal-Mama’. Her published writing of poetry and children’s stories explore her feminist philosophical outlooks.
